Joe Biden received more than 270 electoral votes necessary to win the presidential election, but this does not mean that he will be able to move to the White House tomorrow.
Usually this is a well-established process, but, firstly, the date for the inauguration of the new president has not yet arrived, and secondly, the matter may become more complicated if Donald Trump challenges the election results in court.
When will Joe Biden become president?
The US Constitution states that the new presidential term begins at noon on January 20. Traditionally, this takes place during the inauguration of the President and Vice President, who are sworn in on Capitol Hill in Washington in the presence of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.
