At its factory in Shanghai, Tesla Inc. has finished modernizing the production lines and will test them until November 30 before doubling annual production to 1 million vehicles.

According to a document submitted to the Shanghai government’s environmental disclosure website, the update took nine months.
From around 11,000 SUVs per week before the pandemic, Tesla plans to raise Model Y production in Shanghai to roughly 14,000 units per week. Meanwhile, Model 3 sedan production will grow from 5,500 to 7,700 units per week.
The corporation went to tremendous measures by putting thousands of personnel in what it refers to as a “closed-loop system” to keep the plant operating during the Shanghai lockdown.
