Deals with investors linked to the Russian regime are excluded
Index Ventures has announced that it will cease investing in Russian enterprises indefinitely, indicating that the corporate boycott of Ukraine’s war has spread to venture finance.
Furthermore, the firm will not do business with investors linked to the Kremlin. The index is dedicated to continuing this pace for future funds, as none of the firm’s funds contain money from Russian investors.
The firm has joined the list of companies that have reduced their operations in Russia
Index Ventures, whose portfolio includes Discord Inc., Dropbox Inc., and Slack, has joined a growing list of firms that have scaled back their activities or sales in Russia in the aftermath of the country’s invasion of Ukraine.
The index said on Monday that firms in its portfolio that relocate their personnel outside of Russia will be supported.
“We are making efforts in relation to Russia that go beyond merely complying with the international sanctions.” The business stated in a statement that “we believe it is vital to cut off any resources that might assist Russian state institutions, regime-controlled media, or the banking system in any form.”
